Cask Strength is a small expansion that does exactly what I want from this sort of box. It makes Distilled a little richer without making it noticeably heavier. There are four modular additions here, and all of them slot neatly into a game you already know.
Stronger Ingredients, Better Decisions
The star is the set of upgraded Premium Ingredients. They now have their own effects and rewards, giving you more reason to care about which ingredient you buy rather than simply its sugar type and value. They cost a little more, but that extra investment can lead to better combos and more satisfying spirits later. You can simply replace the previous premium ingrediants with these or go half and half. Up to you.
The Dynamic Market adds another nice wrinkle. Prices of ingredients rise and fall, certain regions become more profitable, and importantly you can see what is coming next round. It adds some useful forward planning without turning Distilled into an economics game.
The new Upgrades and Flavour cards are smaller additions, but they still create a few interesting moments. Some let you bend the usual rules around ageing or take another chance on a poor Flavour card. None of this changes the game dramatically, but collectively it gives experienced players more to think about.
A Little More, Not Too Much
That is really the appeal of Cask Strength. Where the Africa & Middle East expansion mostly adds variety, this one adds a touch more depth. Ingredient choices matter more, timing matters more, and there are a few extra opportunities to build clever combinations.
I would not necessarily use every module with brand-new players. Distilled already has enough going on, and these additions become more interesting once you understand the base game. For anyone who already knows it well, though, this is an incredibly easy expansion to throw in.

Adds more planning without much extra complexity.
Fully modular, so you can use as much or as little as you like.
Cons
Nothing here radically changes Distilled.
The Dynamic Market will appeal more to some players than others.
Better for experienced players than first-timers.
Final Thoughts
Cask Strength makes Distilled slightly deeper without making it harder to enjoy. The upgraded ingredients are the highlight, while the Dynamic Market adds just enough extra planning to keep familiar decisions interesting. It is a small expansion, but a very easy one to recommend if Distilled already gets regular table time.
